Lithium Surface Hardener

Lithium Hardener is a water-based ultra-high solid lithium surface hardener used to densify, harden, dustproof new or existing concrete floors. The product improves surface strength by hardening fresh and existing concrete surfaces and creating a capillary effect, prevents dust emission and is used to obtain a surface with high abrasion resistance. It creates an insoluble calcium silicate structure by reacting with calcium hydroxide and calcium carbonate existing in the active lithium concrete structure. Therefore, hardness of the concrete improves and dust-free surface is obtained.

SHELF LIFE / STORAGE CONDITIONS

The product must be stored as per local storage regulations and should be kept in dry and well-ventilated location far from heat and direct sunlight.

APPLICATION DETAILS

SURFACE PREPARATION

No surface treatment is needed for new concrete. If the concrete is an already existing one, any material such as paint, coating, grease, dirt, etc. must be removed from the surface.

PRECEDING COAT

None

APPLICATION

New Concrete: Directly apply the product on new poured concretes. After identifying the joint gaps, clean any dirt, remnants and residues in the gaps and apply the material on the surface of the concrete.

Existing (Aged) Concrete: Make the concrete surface ready for application. The surface preparation should be made using cleaning and polishing machines, diamond disks and diamond cleaning and maintenance pads. Apply the material on the application surface using a spray pump applicator. Spread the product in a thin layer using a micro-fibre pad. Pay attention to avoid ponding. Re-application is required for the areas that dry before 10 minutes. The surface can be opened for pedestrian traffic after the entire surface dries in 1-2 hours approximately. The surface becomes ready for application after drying; however, completion of the reaction may take up to two weeks depending on temperature and environment conditions.

CLEANING

Clean all equipment and tools with water immediately after use.

SAFETY

Keep the products out of reach of children. Keep the lids of the products closed. It is recommended to use gloves and goggles during application. In case of contact with skin, wash immediately with soap. In case of contact with eyes, immediately consult a doctor. For more information, please refer to the material safety data sheet.

REMARK

• If spray application is considered, apply with low pressure. Do not use wire brush, pay attention to avoid contact of the material with metal, glass, aluminium and other enamel surfaces.
• Pay attention to avoid frost of the material at cold temperatures. If frozen, the material must be re-expanded in a warm ambient.
• Do not thin the material with water or solvent by any means because the material is offered as off-the-shelf product
• Do not apply the product on dusty and/or crumbling or flimsy substrates.
• Do not apply the product on dirty surfaces or on surfaces which are soaked with oily and/or greasy substances.
• Before applying the product, make sure the surfaces are evenly dry and that there is no stagnant water or puddles.
• Do not use the product for sealing cracks and protect treated surfaces from highly aggressive agents.
